About Craven Open Door
Craven Open Door is registered charity providing a social club for people from 16 years upwards with learning difficulties.

With regular meetups, it opens on a Tuesday from 3: 45 till 6:30 during term time at Skipton Youth & Community Centre.

It offers a variety of activities in the club from listening to music, playing table and floor games to baking. We also bring in professionals to deliver a variety of handcrafts also a samba drummer to give lessons , also trips out to name but a few.

Members are consulted as to what they would like to do and a termly programme is put together.

Recently in December we celebrated Christmas with members making Christmas cards and decorations, baking and decorate individual Christmas cakes, a shopping trip for presents and finally we all went out for a Christmas meal.

We constantly apply to various organisations to fund these activities to provide the only evening social club open to anyone from the age of 16 plus with learning disabilities of any level in Craven
A Message From the Trustees
At Craven Open Door we are committed to treating all our members, Trustees and all those with whom we work with respect, acceptance and understanding.
As Trustees we are committed to the following aims:

-
To provide equal opportunities to all our members to enjoy experiences which the rest of the community enjoy.

-
To ensure all members attending the club do so safely and in an atmosphere which fosters friendship and trust.

-
Through our activities and enrichment programme to provide opportunities for members to practice and develop skills involving, amongst other, arts and crafts, sport, music, cookery and gardening.

-
To be aware of the challenges our members experience and to work within those challenges to stretch and develop their abilities and competences.
